Marcin Kuśmierz acquires 15% of shares of Escola S.A.
"Our goal is to become a leading player on the mobile solutions market in the region of Central and Eastern Europe. Marcin's extensive experience, who joined Escola as a significant shareholder and member of the Supervisory Board, will have a positive impact on the dynamics of our development. We also want to take advantage of his experience when preparing for the IPO – says Krzysztof Wojewodzic, CEO Escola.
Marcin Kuśmierz was a long-term CEO home.pl S.A., and then he was also responsible for the development of 1&1 IONOS, the largest Internet service provider for SMEs in Europe, in the countries of the CEE region. In January 2021, he became the President of the Management Board of Shoper S.A., the owner of the most popular e-commerce platform in Poland supporting online stores in the SaaS model. He is an investor in several technology companies, which are leaders in the CEE region, which he supports in their transformation and building a growth strategy. He has a 25-year-old experience in managerial positions in the e-commerce sector, information technology, and the online payments sector.
"Escola is a company that has a chance to become one of the European leaders in the field of advanced mobile solutions. It already develops a number of innovative products, supports prestigious Polish and foreign brands, and above all, has a strong competence and well-motivated team. I will support it in the development and implementation of a new growth strategy so that it optimally uses its development potential – comments Marcin Kuśmierz.
Escola S.A. develops through software house services, as well as mergers and acquisitions and venture building. So far, the company has taken over ClickMaster company from Krakow, among others, becoming the owner of the Mobile Trends conference brand, and in April it accepted an experienced team of programmers from the Katowice-based IT.focus company to Escola. The company is also developing its activities in the direction of data science and the segment related to IT consulting.
"We see Escola's development on two pillars: the development of the software house structure which is predictable and brings constant revenues, and the other by subsidiaries that develop their own products based on technologies created in the company, e.g. for the e-commerce market or e-learning. Such a diversified model allows us to maintain a stable income and generate profits, and on the other hand, invest in new sectors, thanks to which we can dynamically increase the valuation of the entire capital group – adds Krzysztof Wojewodzic.
The subsidiaries of the Escola capital group include: the Frivo application developed by Frivo Sp. z o.o., the Meetinga.com application, the e-learning platform Wellms.io, the online course platform MyVOD.io, and software for online stores Heseya.com. In the coming months, the company intends to focus on the development of subsidiaries and a stable segment of software house services.
Last year, Escola took 1st place among Polish companies and 8th place in Central and Eastern Europe in the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Central Europe 2021 ranking in the "Growth Stars" category. Escola also ranked 6th in Clutch's global ranking of the fastest growing IT companies with an average revenue growth of 180% for 2019-2020.
